Project: Orsta was contacted by Intermarine to Design and Construct a new Inner Breakwater for APB’s Town Quay Marina in Southampton. The old breakwater was falling apart and our on site building facility seemed ideal for providing the replacement. The first project abroad was quite a challenge, the key to which proved to be constant communication and coordination between Intermarine, ABP and Orsta staff.

 

The success was proven immediately when ABP decided to also replace the Outer Breakwater at the same marina. With the construction site already in place, we were able to act swiftly and cost-effectively, which was of benefit to all parties.

 

 

Scope: Inner Breakwater, 129 m breakwater, 7 pontoons

of l 18,40 x w 5,00 x h 2,85 weight 70,000 kgs each

Outer Breakwater, 66 m breakwater, 3 pontoons of l 22,00 x w 5,00 x h 2,85 meter weight 80,000 kgs each
