Project: Castlebay Breakwater, Isle of Barra

 

Scope: Seven pontoons were produced at Dunstaffnage Marina, near Oban, Scotland and launched with the marina boat hoist. The pontoons were connected in their final assembly and towed to the Isle of Barra, some 140 kilometres away.

 

Each pontoon measures 15.00 x 4.00 x 1.80 meters with a freeboard of 50 cm, weight 37.5T.
